(We set up a new home for them close by to relocate to), and once they left the attic window, he sealed the area so they could not return. He did everything with the right equipment, and he was extremely careful and made sure the bats were evacuated safely (in their own timing). Jory was available immediately, and he came back to seal the space after he gave the bats enough time to evacuate themselves. Who We Are:
Black Swamp Wildlife Services LLC is the culmination of Jory Schlatter’s lifelong passion for hunting, trapping, and wildlife management. Growing up on his family’s rural property, Jory was immersed in the world of wildlife control from a young age. He recalls trapping muskrats, mink, possums, groundhogs, and raccoons to protect his parents’ land, where he learned firsthand the crucial role wildlife management plays in preserving property.
One vivid childhood memory that shaped Jory’s passion for wildlife management was proactively protecting his parents’ land from nuisance muskrats. Their property had a creek running through it, which served as a prime habitat for these burrowing animals. Knowing the damage muskrats could cause, Jory took a preventative approach, trapping them in the creek before they could reach the nearby pond. Thanks to his foresight, the pond remained untouched, never suffering from the erosion and drainage issues that often plague unmanaged waterways. This hands-on experience not only safeguarded his family’s property but also laid the foundation for his expertise. As he grew older, local farmers recognized his skill and hired him to remove nuisance wildlife threatening their fields. These early years in the field honed his abilities and deepened his passion for proactive wildlife management—an approach he continues to bring to every property he services today.
It’s this unique blend of practical experience, deep-rooted passion, and formal qualifications that sets Jory apart in the industry. Not only has he spent years learning the ins and outs of wildlife control, but he is also fully licensed and holds the proper permits for Alabama to ensure every job is completed to the highest standard and in compliance with local regulations. His childhood experiences, combined with this professional certification, make him uniquely equipped to handle any wildlife challenge that comes his way.
When Jory isn’t working, he and his family love to spend time visiting the many parks in the surrounding area. They enjoy exploring nature and searching for wildlife, teaching their two daughters about the animals and ecosystems that thrive in their region. These outdoor adventures have become a cherished family tradition.
In 2025, Jory and his wife, Christina, made the decision for her to stay home with their two daughters, Glory & Camilla - A choice that led them to start Black Swamp Wildlife Services. They knew it was time to turn Jory's expertise and love for the craft into a business that could serve the families and property owners of Mobile and Baldwin counties in the state of Alabama.
They put everything on the line to make their dream come true, driven by the shared vision of creating a better future for their family while continuing the work Jory has always loved.
